Weapon CF Playback

I have noticed with my Weapon CF camera if I playback from the camera 6K HD files compressed at 4:1 or lower the playback stutters and drops frames. Has anyone else experienced the same issue? 5:1 and higher compression and lower resolutions playback with no issues. Just wondering if this is typical or specific to my camera?

I have seen this stuttering on a CF Weapon too while playback when shot on the lowest compression and 6K all formats and the dual record on. The stutter does not occur when recording only on the R3D. I have not checked it at lower resolutions or higher compression settings. The CF Weapon is that of my DOP friend. He too confirmed that because of this stutter while playback, he recorded on only the R3D format and transcoded the files to Prores for editing. This was for a feature film.

Thats interesting that it only stutters in dual record mode. I will check this out and test as it seems counter intuitive. I would have thought the fact the camera had recorded a Pro Res stream would have no effect on the latter playback of R3D but it's a wacky world. If true this is probably good news as I assumed it was a bandwidth/processing issue but if it's somehow related to the QT files it may be FW fixable.

I assume Pro Res playback in the camera will one day be unlocked and this too could be a workaround. Untill then it makes it difficult to use the low compressions on the the CF Weapon as no proper playback is alienating for clients and I generally verify the camera is working properly by the occasional playback check.
