I'm wondering how you Guys mount the Red Weapon on gimbals? Ronin, Movi or whatever else...
I used to mount my Red Epic Dragon on gimbals with the carbon side plate adapter from Freefly and an Endura 7s, it gave me enough time to work on my shots while keeping the set-up light.
Anyone tried with the XL module and its batteries?

I'm also interested to know if someone tried to mount the Weapon CF with XL batteries.

It depends on how much time you need, whether for short shots because you do not use new batteries of the Ronin? with its adapter to power the weapon?
So you have everything much lighter.

It'll work on an M15 with a light lens. Too heavy of a lens pushes the camera back to balance and the camera will hit the MoVi.

Our experience so far.. using the Jetpack to reduce body length and overall weight (this works if you're powering via LIPO or other gimbal option that provides a LEMO power in).. the Redvolt module is an alternative but unless you run the bulky Base Expander module (which is terrible for gimbal dynamics given it's extruding shape on one side of the body) you're going to be without SYNC and CTRL ports

We've also found the Sidekick module is additional unnecessary weight and width bulk - however we also found out the hard way that in CF Upgrade packages (those getting the brain+goodies) RED bolts the Sidekick onto the brain and doesn't give you a flat plate in its replacement. We've just had to order and pay for a non-Sidekick plate from them... kind of frustrating, as once you take the sidekick off there's exposed wiring and gaps into the brain circuitry so you definitely want a sideplate covering that (gaffer is our temp solution)

Your ideal gimbal scenario IMO is minimum camera: brain + Jetpack.. using LEMO input on Jetpack to power from your gimbal, LIPO or even a v-lock if you use a PTAP>LEMO cable - even better if you stick this battery on a belt clip!

Thanks for your input Guys!

I think the same Darren... Too bad, they didn't send us the plate to replace the sidekick when needed.
It reminds me of my Epic-M package which came with the PL mount pre-installed... the day I had to send the camera back, I had to purchase a body cap as I din't want to play with tape and cardboard...

That's something I need to investigate, I didn't know I could power the camera via the Ronin.

Has anybody tried the Dragon or Weapon D on a Helix or Helix Jr. gimbal?

We put or Weapon on the Helix, it works perfect but with the lens and Monitor its heavy. after 5min you get tired. Puting the Helix on a Steadicam its fine. https://youtu.be/7nKX4NSPd-E?list=UUPLAYER_SchweizervideoAG

ET makes a nice cheese plate replacement cover for the Sidekick. I got one before they ran out. It's nice and light considering, and gives you mounting options. $150.00. We bought them for our 2 Scarlet W's so we'd have some functionality out of that real estate on the bodies, so I guess we could use the plain covers from those on our Weapon CF bodies on our Ronin.

Just put today the Weapon CF on the Mövi 5, works perfect.

I put the Weapon on a Helix today. I used the Jet pack Which helps keep the weight down and is slick for use with a HDMI wireless video like the Paralinx (however my parallax doesn't seem to work at the moment) if you use EF lenses and fool control for focus you can have wireless video and follow focus with almost no weight gain, literally a few ounces.

Mark, you didn't by chance plug the two pin Lemo from the Parralix into the Helix power port, did you? They're wired differently.
