Weapon cable for 2 channel Audio

HI all, I am looking for a solution to take two mono mini jacks from a Lector receiver and go into the base expander Stereo Mini jack with both channels, is this possible or recommended? something like a reverse splitter taking two male monos into two female monos and then a male stereo into the base expander.

Yes, I had Wilcox Sound in LA make a custom cable to do just this. It was basically two TA3 output cables from a Lectro SRb receiver going to a balanced 3.5mm right-angle plug for a Red Epic, which I assume will work for Weapon. It wasn't too expensive, maybe $35.

It works and it's reliable. Sound is more a question of where the microphones are and how the acoustics of the location are, and if the wireless reception is optimized and the levels are correct. When everything is set up right, it sounds absolutely great. Wire is just wire.

Keep in mind that there is a difference between the EPIC/Scarlet and Weapon audio ports.

On the EPIC/Scarlet, each 3.5mm jack was assigned to an individual mic so you had a standard TIP IN +, RING IN - and the sleeve as a ground.

On the Weapon DSMC2 expanders, there is only the single 3.5mm jack handling (2) microphone inputs with the TIP being left, the RING being right and the sleeve as ground.



Still wish all were mini-XLR's with industry standard wiring

Do I really need a custom cable to feed 1 self powered shotgun mic (say, Rode videomic) and a wireless lavalier (ew 100/ew 500), at the same time?
I'll probably need a custom one anyway since I can't seem to find ANGLE male splitting to straight females, but can't I simply buy a bunch of those http://www.ebay.co.uk/bhp/y-cable-jack and expect them to feed just fine??
