Guys, I am not sure who is working on this but we really need to see great color in our editor. The old color science is really starting to bother me on exports from Premiere. Scratch and RedCine look so much better it's a shame I have to export this stuff for a client with the old color look.

Any ETA on this? is it the RED team working on it or the Adobe team?

Obin,

Don't you have a close relationship with Adobe? I thought you would be able to chirp in their ear and tell them we need this update already... I have posted several times on here and at the Adobe forum and I am telling you I am under the impression they had had no knowledge of the new color science and why they should support it....

Agreed, I'm really worried to see Obin posting this. Usually it is you telling us about all the great things soon to happen with adobe. Oh no!

Yea well I have done all I can. so I went public. oh boy. :)

It's "being worked on"

thats all I got at the moment.
hang tight.

on a good note how would you like REALTIME KEYING of REDRAW? it's sick....

When Adobe releases CS5 with B21, the RED will be in B32.
Adobe doesn't care about us. Simply, we are not important to them.

True but I think that build 21 and the color is pretty darn tight. I mean what more would you want from the RAW file?

needless to say I am finishing some national commercial work and keying in realtime inside premiere with a key that is good enough for primetime. In other words I will not need to use AfterEffects to pull the final key.

I can't talk much about it but it's coming.....

Obin, we need new color science for AE. Nightmare grading FX DPX with Red Footages that we shot with R20. Lim

I think this is why RED needs to fully develop REDCINE to its maximum potential and just moot the foot-dragging third party software developers. If they can't keep up, jettison them. They are holding up progress.

I plan on buying the scarlet, but I have been doing some messing around with the adobe workflow recently

I was able to do small edits on my mac pro with 2gb of ram using 4k red raw footage (clips from red pro prime test footage) just by changing working resolutions. It was fantastic. I just hope that by the time my Scarlet arrives, the necessary support has been created by adobe be it in cs4 or cs5 so that I can have a solid reliable workflow.
