  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

We have time before WEAPON arrives

Moving to SXSW would be a brilliant move. Tech & indie culture over mass media. Love it! Plus you'd get the jump on the flood of announcements that happen in early April.

What's the major difference between Weapon Carbon and normal Weapon?

Cool. Bells and whistles are always welcome but improvements to overall image quality tops my wish list every time.

I'm curious to know if the least of the Weapon models will be more or less (or both) capable than an Epic Dragon, similar to the way Scarlet Dragon improved upon Epic MX in terms of color and DR while not being able to achieve the higher frame rates or lower compression.

That's probably info of the "wait 'til NAB" variety.
 
I just hope Weapon will not require a whole new rig.... some new rig pieces are understandable but a complete refit will be a pain. Particularly as it may take a whole year before new rigs are designed or machined...or at least until we have some choice between rigs.

Jarred have you shared the exterior schematics with third party manufacturers yet?

My One Question

Hi Jarred,

It will be quite a big decision for me to upgrade from Epic MX to Dragon before NAB in order to take advantage of the Weapon upgrade deal which is still
sketchy in details. A major new advantage would help push me over the line. Some say that's already Pro Res, others ... the smaller/ lighter form factor or the better fan situation and then there's the Vista Vision option which I'm not sure I'll ever be able to afford, what with new lenses etc.

So my one question is, if I upgraded before NAB in order to take advantage of the Weapon upgrade deal, what one major new feature would I most be impressed by?

Thanks.... in hopeful anticipation and we'd all love to see some vision from this small beast....
