Hi All. We're in possession of a non-functioning RED ONE MX. The camera was dropped off for repair at RED and they promptly informed us that they show the camera as stolen in their system. The person that sold it to us is so far unresponsive and RED won't tell us when the camera was stolen nor will they give us the info of the registered owner (that much is understandable). We suspect this theft is years old rather than something recent. The camera is a RED ONE MX, low serial number. It is completely non-functioning (no power).
If you had your RED ONE MX stolen or know someone that has EVER, can you reach out to us with a serial number? If the serial matches we'll have you reach out to RED to verify ownership. Our intent is to sell the camera for parts, fully disclosing to the buyer it's status with RED but we'd like to make a reasonable effort to find the registered owner prior to doing that. At our request, RED is reaching out to the registered owner on file but I suspect this theft is years old as the person we bought it from had it for years and knew how to use it which means he likely was not the thief. So I figured posting here and on our local Craigslist would better our chances of finding the person.
