WD green disks, be aware

Only cost less than a few dollars, or dollar. These things would be mass produced. Even with raid you can need to recover from the disks sometimes. What is happening is a long term con used on many products where your cheap options are limited. Of course they will still make cutting edge custom drives, along side such drives.

I too had a green drive stop last week after just a few days of use. According to WD, if your computers disk management tool won't even recognize that the hard drive exists, it's dead and send it back. I asked WD for a black replacement as the internet is full of bad comments on WD green drives. Just today I got an email that a better quality black drive is one the way. So WD has excellent replacement guarantee service but a lousy series of green drives. Black and Blue drives are suppose to be much better. We'll see.
