Will this quickback work for the Raven? WC guy used the quickback and a vmount blueshape on the back of the weapon without any cables power it up. Wonder if this will work for the Raven as well.

Just watched the video, looks like you will still need some sort of base expander for this product to work, I would imagine the basic dsmc2 base expander (no v-mount) would work on raven but don't quote me

Matthew it seems like you dont need a base expander. If you see the video and some of the promo photos, he has the quickback straight on the camera body no extra anything. I suspect since it both raven and weapon are dsmc2 it will work on both.

That blueshape vmount adapter that is connected to the quickback is my question. Maybe its not available yet. That would be cool if we can power the Raven just like the attached pic.

i dont think this is anything special, you can always attach a battery plate directly to the camera, the quick back just lets you do it without tools. probably mainly if you are hopping back and forth from needing and i/o and not needing one, for whatever reason. now if it had a simple hdmi output, that would be something.

The Weapon version connects to the 30 pin electronics thus eliminating the power cord.

Do you happen to have a link? I checked WC and Blueshape's but no dice. I see it on the page and the video.

I recently talked to Ryan about this and I can confirm that the power goes through the built in pins on the back of the weapon and not through a lemo cable. Basically you buy the quick back and then chose what option you want on the back of it, a v-mount plate or a AB plate. It's just like ET's plate, but possibly slightly skinnier.

He mentions it in the video, and also in the description on the page. Doesn't get more clearer than that.

" We will also be offering a cable-less WC V-Mount (Weapon) and WC Gold Mount (Weapon) that provides power to the camera via the 13 pin pogo connector on the back"

This is the biggest change from Epic to Weapon. The ability to pass power through the internal electronics with third party accessories. Download the PDF... no cables.

Link dont work but i will check the site out again. Thanks. This better work on Raven too :). Do you really think you will need 10k to get the Raven going? I think you can go with less.

Fixed the link. BTW, any link for WC products don't work here on Reduser. (long story)

this is great news. I was seriously considering the V-lock/I/O expander, but I'm not too hot on V mounts. If I can mount some AB gold batteries without cables, I'll be a happy camper.
