Please excuse my ignorance and stupidity about this, but when it comes to digital, video, and especially the RED-One, I am still learning. So, my question is:

When you use the WB button on the front, left of the camera to set the WB, shouldn't the white card appear "white" on the monitor and the EVF once the balance has adjusted and set itself?

Mine always shows up yellow. Is there something I'm doing wrong, or have done wrong, or what?

Your help and experience is appreciated.

Thanks.

Are you viewing raw or redcolor? Viewing raw and white balancing in tungsten light could possibly produce what you are describing. Does the metadata read out make sense for what you are doing? Does it only look yellow in camera or in post? What happens if you white balance in redcinex? Does it come up close or very different?

If you can give us more info, we can better help you.

Tim

Are you in RAW view? If so, switch over to Redcolor. The try your AWB again.

I just noticed something else.

On the monitor and viewfinder the white card is yellow. In Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 it is yellow. In RedCineX it is white.

Hmmmmmmmmm !!

Yea Steve, I was. RedColor did it alright. It's white now. Very nice.

That does not affect the image any, right?

I just want to make sure I don't change anything that will screw something "else" up. That's the exact thing that makes me nervous about all this new technology. It's kinda scary and overwhelming, especially when you come from many years in film.

Thanks.
