Ok....so I lust for certain big ticket lenses. I google them a lot. Today in searching for Summicron-C glass I found what appears to be (online anyway) an electronics superstore in Indonesia. It is called Sandy Electronics (the URL is https://sanelectronic.com ) and appears (at least online) to be a huge B&H type electronics store. But here is the thing..the prices they list are super cheap. Too good to be true cheap. Anybody heard of this? Possible scam? If it is a scam it is the best one I have ever seen.

Consider this lens, the Leica 25mm Summicron-C.

https://sanelectronic.com/leica-25mm-t2-0-summicron-c-lens-pl-mount-marked-in-feet.html

The price listed is $10,500.

Everywhere else this lens is listed at $15,000. If you take a look around the website, they list thousands of new electronic products priced way under what they are elsewhere. Again it is he best fake I have ever seen if that is the case. The only thing I could find that was clearly wrong, was they are selling new Sony F3s.

SANDY Electronic
Lippo Plaza.
Jalan Raya Bogor KM.19,
Jakarta Timur, Jakarta,
Indonesia 13510.

Anybody know anything about Sandy Electronic?

Wow there are a couple things I've been putting off but would jump on with the prices they have on there. I second Scot's inquiry.

To be clear, I am not promoting this in any way...I just want to know how it could be legit.

If youre interested in crons I can always rent them to you for jobs where you feel they would be useful.

Can also work out monthly rentals as well if you want them for longer periods of time.

Well their site has over one hundred Ad block hits on the front page...

If you want I can sell you some S-luxs' for 3 grand a piece, ships from Turkey.

But hey if this isn't a scam site, I guess we'll all be rolling in glass.

Googling the store's address yields a completely different result than the location shown on the website map. They're 45 minutes apart.

If you go to the "About Us" section and read the text, it seems pretty funny.
If you google this part (which talks about cycling) taking the words Sandy Electronic out...

Why buy from Sandy Electronic ?
Sandy Electronic exists to deliver a world class shopping experience to selling around the globe, offering the lowest prices on everything you need to feed your cycling habit, and delivering directly to you with no fuss.

You get a bike shop in Ireland

Oh well, back to Ebay!

Sure seems too good to be true....could not get them to answer their phone....

...but hell, looks like LOW OVERHEAD at their offices.

I think they usually sells from the back of the truck for optimal customer service.

Same thing guys, I'm amazed. A guy called Steve Lee answered me that the payment can be made through Pay-Pal... To good to be true, right?

If you're in the market for Summicron C's

I could sell you a gently used 6 lens set of Summicron C's

18-25-35-50-75-100

For $70k usd.

Inspect and pickup in Los Angeles.

Sorry, I don't take PayPal.

Only bank checks/wire transfers.

Whoa, I live in Jakarta and never heard about them.. The address on their website is also weird "Lippo Plaza" without any floor or unit number and if we click on the map it shows another location (Mall Ambassador).. I'll try to find them next time I go there.

That would be cool.

did you get a chance to check this out?

It's a scam for sure. I call the Plaza and the reception said there's no Sandy Electronic shop/office in their plaza.

Here's the Lippo Plaza phone number if you wanna check yourself:

Yet they answer their email and take PayPal which gets you your money back on scams....Dan I am lusting for your Crons.

I tried buying from them in the past. They make you pay for a ridiculous amount of "shipping insurance" that they don't tell you about until after you complete your purchase. They won't ship if you don't pay for the extra insurance and they won't refund your purchase. After hearing this, I found on a website (consumer reports, I think) that they sell grey market items. Talking to them on the phone is a horrible experience. I had to threaten to report them and threaten a lawsuit in order to receive a refund. I would stay clear of them.
