Hey guys, I was wondering if there was any way to import just one kind of proxy quickly into Final Cut. For example, I want to edit with the 1k M proxies, but to get them into FCP I have to either import all the proxies and weed through them or import each one individually. Is there any way to write a script or program that would allow you to select a folder and what kind of proxy you want to import into FCP and then it would find those proxies and import them for you?

Okay, within 10 minutes I found the answer myself. Here's how you can pull all proxies of one kind into your project. Import the folder that holds all your proxies info FCP. Select Find from the Edit menu and then do a search for all the kind of proxies you need. In my case, that means I searched for _M and hit Find All. From the new window it creates, just drag the search results over to your project window. Fast, easy, and clean!

I do the same thing, but in the finder window. Just select the folder containing your red footage and in the upper right of finder type _M or whatever proxy you want. Sometimes the search goes back to the whole computer so I just select the folder in the upper part of the window and all my proxies are displayed. I select all and drag them into fcp. I use this method all the time and have been very happy with it, and it is very easy to do.
