I am trying to make use the of the RedRay player. I exported a few scenes in .tif and .wav from FCPX 10.2.1. Then use Redcine-X to encode them in .RED Redcine-X has no problem with the .tif, but when I try in do anything with the .wav, it reads "offline" and I get an error that says "This audio file does not contain a valid BWF format, aborting read." I tried to export the audio through compressor in every audio format possible and still no luck. Is there something that I am missing?
Thank you for any help!

Hi Brian,

Are you on 35.1? As there was an issue with BWF audio files opening correctly in 35.

Thanks,
David

You can also try conforming the sound file with sounddevices waveagent utility, before loading it in Redcine-x. This usually works when I have to sync zoom/tascam/aux audio files in Redcine-X, because Redcine-X seems to be particularly picky about loading wav/bwf files.

Hi Shibon,

That shouldn't be the case, and I'd love to solve it. Any chance you can make available to me a file that doesn't work and also after it has been run through waveagent?
You can email me at redcinex at red dot com if you need somewhere to upload the files.

Thanks,
David

I made sure that I was current on everything. Redline-X 35.1, FCPX 10.2.1, compressor 4.2, and OS X 10.10.3
I spent a long time trying many different things. Surprisingly I did find a work around. I exported the audio through compressor as an .aiff. I then used iTunes of all things to convert the audio to a .wav. Once i did that, Redline-X had no problem with the .wav file.
