  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

WATER BREATHING DRAGON

Here's a little phone snap of my seaworthy data station. Very lightweight with an extremely small footprint. Bait cutting board size to be specific ;)

Hi Johnny,

Some lovely footage there, particularly the kelp and swirling schools of baby squid(?).

Just a quick question, do you still have the same deco stops with rebreathers as you do for deep tech diving (imagine so!). What are the benefits?

I've only done 100 logged dives but never heard much about rebreathers from the DM's that have been looking out for me, even Cenotes DM's.

Great stuff!

Yes, we still have deco stops when using RB's, but we also control or slow down the CO2 absobtion in our stytem due the fact we are usually diving a mixure of pure O2 and 21% air...so we can set a constant PPO2 (parital pressure of O2) where you cannot do that with open circuit....basically our RB's are making the best Nitrox mix on the fly based on what PPO2 setpoint we choose giving us benefits of:
*Longer bottom times
*Less CO2 uptake
*No Bubbles
*No noise--this one you would be so surprised when going from open circuit to closed....how much noise is made diving a standard tank and regulator.

.....all huge benefits when filming underwater wildlife.

Ahh thanks Johnny, that makes a lot of sense. You must have good ears! Wish I could say the same.

Looking forward to seeing some 3D Dragon footage from you one day.

Keep up the good work, great stuff.
