Just want to see if someone has some info on the subject.
thanks

I've heard about it too. Allegedly, it is competitively priced and supposed to be of comparable design to the Red Rock MicroMatteBox & Follow Focus... I assume there will be a press release from Arri on their website once they're ready to sell them.

Filmtools is an Arri dealer, and I bet you'll be able to pick them up there once they are out.

I am still waiting for it, but I believe it is geared more towards smaller cameras. Mitch would you mind giving us the inside info on this one? You know release dates, prices, specs?

BTW, I think ARRI should open a manufacturing plant in Mexico to cater to this side of the ocean. There is a huge Mercedes Benz bus plant here, and it's a great success story that can be followed by ARRI.

I've seen the prototypes of these and they're not going to solve everyone's problems.

The MB is specifically designed for a Sony EX1 and has side-loading filter trays  . So much for using grads.

The follow focus is much more promising and very, very well-constructed but I believe its only going to be build for 15mm rods on 60mm spacing.

19 Mm Rods For The Ff Would Be Amazing...
Guess We Just Have To Wait...
I Think All Of Us Red-owners Have Now A Certain Degree Of Zen Monks...our Patience Has Increased With Everithing Around Us.

It's all coming soon...

There was a slight manufacturing delay, otherwise we would have them already. They'll be here very soon and I'll let everyone know all about them at that time. Don't want to tease with a date as we know where that can lead us.

I never heard a price...was one ever announced? I still find it hard to believe that Arri would play ball.

I have been pestering Abel for a while on this and all I know is Arri has not even put part numbers on anything but apparently its very close...maybe in a couple of weeks? I dont know exact price but I do know its more then 3k and less then 4k for a MB + FF bundle. I have played with it, it rocks...very well built but as Harper mentioned the MB is side loaded only....still a nice light weight MB, the prototype I played with could be set to rails (15mm) or clip on.

Feel free to pester away. As soon as we have something definitive to announce we will. And anyone who went to the DCS event last weekend already knows one of the truly great features that has not yet been otherwise announced.

Mitch,
Is there a new 6X6 coming as well?

Yep. That would be the MB28. For when the MB14 is just too much mattebox to deal with. Essentially an MB20 enlarged. It covers the Optimo 12x. It will be several months at least before Arri ships units but in the meantime Abel is renting one of the few existing (I think two -- us and Clairmont) prototypes that were handcrafted by Arri. Great matteboxes. I suspect they'll be quite popular once generally available.

Hi Mitch, Thanks for your valued presence in this forum.
Do you have any available stills or pics of the new Follow focus and matte box
in different angles? I am very interested.

Lisa

We will have this info properly presented very soon.

I think I found a newer Picture, It looks pretty good:

These are some good shots of the prototypes. The shipping version has improved upon this in certain key aspects. But even the prototype was pretty sweet.

I wonder if that is the Donan? Did Arri buy them out?

Mitch, is the new 6x6 going to be priced close to the MB-20?
