Can anyone give me some leads on an underwater housing for the RED camera? I am interested in buying one rather than hire. Any info on functionality and price would be appreciated.

Thanks

There's an entire thread calle the underwater bubble blowers group where we talk about this.

http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=562

My company AquaVideo is making housings. Ken Corben (sharkguy has been shooting with the prototype since September and we have already shipped five units. Another half dozen are on order and almost completed. Those are waiting on the Birger Canon EOS mount, which provides some phenomenal lens capabiity. Should be out in the next week or so.

PM or call me (Mike 954 937 6600) and I can send you complete details.

Price for aluminum version is currently $8499 and $6499 for a PVC version.

The underwater photo is by Mark Thorpe from another thread - Ken Corben and Johnny Friday were shooting the sharks in Africa last week.

Gates are working on one...But it going to cost more then the camera. They are going for a Aluminium housing. Onboard Media is going to make one from carbonfiber/kevlar..sub 10 k usd.

I have just joined the Forum.
I have been looking into the Red for a number of years but can't get One! But I want to build a housing, as I have a number of projects coming up.
I build my own underwater housings. So far I have built one for a Z1, Nikon D2x and some small Hd cameras.
Is there anyone one the UK (or elsewhere) who would be interested in getting involved with building a housing with me.
All of my housineg have bben tested to 100m, and some too 700ft....
