Hello there.

My name is Obi Okorougo and I'm a producer from Los Angeles, Calif. currently working on some projects in Africa.

I'm shooting a 15-minute short film in (mid) December and I'm in search of a DP/Cinematographer with skills on the RED. I plan to put the film into International film festivals and use it for my graduate application to the AFI Conservatory.

My film budget is about $7,000 and I plan on using half of that to secure a DP. (That includes plane ticket, lodging, and rate for the 4 - 5 days or so).

I'm looking for a passionate, adventurous DP, SKILLED (!), with an eye for beauty, and a desire to shoot in picturesque Africa. I realize the money is probably less than the usual rate, but this not your usual project.

If you're interested or if you know of anybody, please get in touch!

Have great days,
Obi

Hey Obi, I guess you wanna shoot in Naija based on your name. If so, try this guy Tunji at this link http://reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?p=499151#post499151. I guess he has 2 Red One Cameras in Lagos, Nigeria. so it will save you the cost of flying someone from down here. You can PM him here too.

I am based in Toronto and I have Red #7020. I wont be going down there this year and to be honest, your best bet is that guy in Lagos. It seems you are in the nollywood industry, so If you guys need something to shoot in Toronto, you can contact me.

sounds intriguing...

Hello Obi,

Have a look at my work, would enjoy having a read of your script. I have a *full* Red package, listed on my site too.

Cheers,
Morgan

Hey Lonzo,

Thanks for the heads up. It looks like Tunji has a couple cameras for rent, but I'm actually looking for a full-fledged DP, and a great one at that. I don't mind spending the money if I can get quality in return.

I spend time in Montreal, so if we shoot something on your side of the world I'll let you know!

I see what you saying about experience. I think there might be some experience dp in Lagos cos those guys shoots thousands of movies each year. Though Most of them suck quality wise.

Africa is a continent.. where in Africa??? Your US$7,000 could go in airfare itself... just trying to be realistic.

Google Jungle Films. I think they are based in Lagos and they rent out lights and grip equipment. They should have a list of DOPs or filmmakers who can help you out.

Thanks for the heads up Tony, I'll check him out.
