Want to See - Raptor - 4K 240fps - NOISY???

[Kévin Gourvellec]

Hello,

I'll maybe shoot with the Raptor VV in 4k 240fps.
Does it noisy like previous models when it cropped?
Does someone have footage of it?
I'm 1ac and it's for a commercial.

Thank you,

Kevin from MTL

I couldn't find examples of those exact settings. However are some test videos of the V-raptor at even Higher framerates some with examples of 4K 240fps, maybe that can help you decide.

RED have Raptor VV sample footage you can download.

If you scroll down to the bottom of this page you can find several slow-motion clips from the V-Raptor VV 8K - https://www.red.com/downloads

There are 3K & 4K clips, as well as higher resolution clips, shot at various speeds, that you can crop into to see how it looks.

For what it’s worth - I’ve shot a little bit in 4K 240 with anamorphic lenses on the V-Raptor and it looked fantastic. It was for a feature and we tested the hell out of different frame rate/resolution options and 4K won out. It’s in the movie and it looks great. We tested with spherical too and at no point did we feel like the 4K was a compromise.

Thank all for the answers
I'm feeling more confident now!!!

Noise is not a problem. Yes there may be a little bit of noise but it can easily be fixed with Neat Video. It is amazing and should be in everyone's arsenal. Good luck!
