i'm looking for a "lighter weight" tripod. i'm used to renting but since red came along i tend to go out just for fun and all by myself every now and then...

please pm me if you got one to sell.

I am looking for one as well. Even if it is not up exactly for the right amount of weight. I'm planning to use it only for hiking or when I travel by myself (I can't be carrying my Cartoni Delta, way to heavy for a one man show)

I was thinking this one. But of course still a little bit heavy and another 700$ to my pocket. But I don;t think I'll be able to get it for less.

It terms of the weigh, I think just to make few pans or leave the camera in a locked down shot might work. I'm planning on using EVF, Red 16gb card, and Battery belt clip. For matt and filers, just Birger with screw on ND and some Canon Hoods.

If you find another solution, please post it. Thanks,

hey muffinny,

i don't know about that one man. although it might fit the bill, i'm trying to keep away from tripods i haven't used myself (or at least took it through its paces at a tradeshow). but then, it's like you said - if it's just to leave the camera locked down and maybe do a few pans with - well, you get the point...

anyway - thanx for the tipp. i'll let you know about my findings.

No way with Red1!!! to heavy. Good legs, the head is ok with the EX1 or similar.

There can be only one...for you guys... its much too small for a fully equipped RED.
It will just handle a stripped RED with a fixed lens or small zoom and clip-on
I have used it on many small/three crew trips fx to Africa with a 16mm Aaton and only one AC. If you have to be mobile there is only this....
Its light, its rugged, its german....I give you the Sachtler 18IIIplus. Unbeatable in its class.

Sorry I did not follow your link before I posted, but this one will barely support your dick, let alone any RED in any configuration.
If you are just locked off, it might work providing theres no wind from either you or the atmosphere;-)
