Hi, I am shooting a low budget indie that I am financing myself. So we do not have the opportunity to shoot the following, but we need it for the story:

We need stock footage of an avalanche falling down on a road. Something like this but in 4K, and shot on Red: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vPvOmPDjt8

I would need different angles and takes for editing and RAW footage for grading.

I need original footage that won't be available for everyone, as I am planning to make a feature film out of it. And when I buy it I want to have full rights of the material without time-limit, and to be able to do whatever I want with it. I will pay for it.

If anyone has any tips or has this kind of footage. Or can make it. Please do write to me.

Regards, Robert Wauu

The chances of you getting this in 4K is slim. You are better off asking Björn to recreate this digitally. Perhaps shooting 4K plates and comping particle based snow FX. Or the very least getting hi res still images texture mapped to simple geometry for a little camera move, and then composite some snow. But to shoot an actual avalanche is dicey.

That may be the tallest request ive ever seen! try Brainfarm Cinema or Teton Gravity Research. They are your only hope. Both may be expensive though. The guy at TGR stocks name is Eric Rohr, at BF try Chad. There is an awesome avi on BF's reel that you may be able to buy, and TGR has shot avi's for a while now (usually with skiers in them though). If you do want to shoot it, look for an old film called Out of Ophir (not sure on spelling) its a whole movie with avalanches and music shot in Ophir Canyon in Colorado. I'd start there, and BTW I'd be up for the job if you wanna fund the dynamite! Good luck!
