Hi Guys,
I'm still fairly new here, and new to cinematography ... but I'm part owner in a company that's creating a new online product -- one where playmates deliver instructional videos to men about dating and relationships.
We are going to be shooting in Los Angeles on a yet-to-be-determined date in April (definitely NOT during NAB week) ... and the shoot will most likely last 3-4 days. How many days we need will depend the scripting, and other factors -- but we will have firm dates, number of videos, shooting days, etc within the next two weeks.
I already have a Red One (non-MX) and other gear such as a OCon 2060, RZ 18-50, and some other core accessories. Basically, this will be the B-cam or for when we do interview shoots with two cameras.
The reason I'm posting this is that I'm looking to hire someone with a Red One (regular or MX) to use as the A-cam and basically function as the DP for the shoot, handling lighting, the primary camera work, and also sound (which I realize is not always handled by DP's). The reason for this is that even though I'm learning fast, this a pretty big deal (we have some big name girls about to be signed, and it's not cheap paying all their expenses to location!) And thus I don't want to mess things up, because of my current limitations in experience.
So if you are interested, please shoot me a quote for your daily rate (for gear + working day) ... and also, note that we need these videos finished (minimal editing/grading) in 1080p, 720p and SD -- including simple opening titles and initial music.
In terms of lenses/lighting -- we don't need Cookes, Master Primes, Briese or anything ultra high-end for this ... it's mostly simple, straightforward shots ... so Red Pro Primes, CP2's or another lens of similar quality should work fine. In terms of lights, I must admit that I'm still have a lot to learn -- and am open to suggestions. You may include it in a package, or we can rent it from a 3rd party.
My role will be more like the writer/director in this case, though I can also help operate the B cam -- and I'll be there to help make sure it goes according to plan/vision. Overall, I'm easy to work with and it should be a lot of fun
Anyway, I hope I didn't leave anything out -- just PM me and let me know if you're interested, the price, and any thoughts/questions you might have.
Thanks!
Anthony
P.S. -- If you have thoughts/ideas/hookups/rental experience with a certain location, be sure to mention that in your reply so we can discuss. I'm currently
researching that and would love to lock something down soon.
