  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Waiting for Scarlet, what to do with the time and accessories in the meantime...

We're ready for major productions.

And dude... shoot some action movies with it. Get Action Movie FX app (Free)

It's amazing. First thing I did was blow up my cat, and I couldn't stop laughing.

Don't laugh until you see the stabilized 1080P that comes out that bad boy. I use it a bunch for personal projects. The quality floor is raising . . . the big boy camera makers need to keep elevating their game to keep the gap between phone & movie camera relative

Have you downloaded Filmic Pro and tried out the high bit rate encoding? In my preliminary testing I saw a noticeable improvement.

Ahhh the smug feeling you get when you are in the club with the boys

Consider:

iPhone
2008 3G - no video, 2MP fix focus still camera
2009 3Gs - 480P, 3MP auto focus stills
2010 4 - 720P, 5MP stills
2011 4Gs - 1080P stabilized, 8MP stills

Point is - one of the challenges for the pro manufacturers is to maintain the relative technical gap between a cell phone, DSLR's and other consumers products and their professional equipment. Everything changes . . . so what is the technical state of the art today will be consumer performance in a matter of years. It's all about trends and I for one see a great trend for consumers of high performance equipment since the tide of technology is quickly rising which should lift all boats.

You can't say something is shot on a cell phone if you've got a ton of adapters and shit stuck to it. Seems like just a waste of time. The only reason to do it is for cheap hype. "Yeah! We made a movie with a cell phone!!!" Not saying I haven't seen great things shot on cell phones, but doing is like this is a bit misleading.

It's like those camera commercials that at then end say it was shot on that camera. What they forget to mention is the millions of dollars in accessories, gear, lights, sets and crew that was used to make it.

It's called Marketing, having a hook . . . like Rebel Without a Crew, Blair or Slumdog

What gets me is the suckass audio the Director/Pitchman "Hooman" has in his trailer. Guess they don't have an XLR adapter for that phone
