I'm putting out some feelers for a NEW- NEVER OPENED Vision Smith 2K Re-lamp with lens upgrade. This is the daylight version LED upgrade for Arri 2K or Mole Baby Junior. 2K output that draws 270Watts/2.3 amps. There is a 5 week waiting list from ordering to delivery. I've got my eye on upgrading our entire stockpile to these over time. I've heard good things.
What does the lens upgrade do for you? I wasn't considering anything but the lamp itself.

The lens upgrade increases the projected light from a fixture. I've been harassing Pete at Vision Smith for about 18 months about this re-lamp and the various outputs they would offer. I was waiting for something 2K or better. If I do need to get rid of this one I only will because i'll need to. I'll order another as soon as it comes up to the top of my list, the wait time killed me.

Where are you located in NY? Is pickup available?

I've got one of these 2k's and it's nice having essentially what is close to a 575w HMI that barely draws any wattage. Nice little lamp, and the acrylic fresnel has been nice too. The only drawback from mine is that there is a warm ring around the outside edge of the light, but that is easy to fix with the barn doors. If I had the cash I'd be picking up another one!

Is that a warm ring around the bulb itself or around the upgraded lens?
