...and I thought you'd be more than busy enough moving and expanding servers ;)

Great news. (And I will not ask about the IMS :) )

I just took sleep out of my diet for a couple days, its amazing what you can get done in that extra 6 hours a day.

Ah, yes very nice! Opens up more lens possibilities.

If you have one of these BNCR mounts, and are lacking a wide prime, I have a 20mm T2.8 Techno-Nikkor in BNCR mount. This is a modern multi-coated lens (Nikon NiC coating) and has been completely re-barreled by Technovision. This lens will cover the full FF35 24x36mm sensor so it is "Epic Ready".

why 2k coverage?

why 2k coverage?

Why does BNCR lenses only covers 2k? Are they not for 35mm cameras??

They do cover 35mm. The 18mm and 24mm Cooke Speed Panchros vignette so that's why VP is recommending shooting 2k with those lenses. Lots of BNCR 35 lenses work great with this mount.

Given that the only difference between the BNCR mount and the OCT19 mount is that the FFD is 61.5 on BNCR and 61 on the OCT19, and that the fins on the BNCR have slots on all 4 fins whereas the OCT has a slot on just one fin, I am wondering how much effort it would be to make an OCT19 version (or better yet, make a version that will handle both).

Pardon my ignorance, but does the RED One or the VP BNCR mount allow for backfocus adjustment, such that the only effective difference between these mounts is the register slot on 3 fins?

Thanks

I sell an OCT-19 mount for the RED. It's $695. I'd be surprised if you could alter it to take BNCR lenses as well, but I'd sure be open to that if someone has a BNCR lens they'd like me to test in it.

Douglas: you use the Brevis OCT19 mount as a starting point, right? That mount has backfocus built in, or at least it does when it is used on the Brevis, as Cinevate intended. Does your modded OCT19 mount retain that backfocus ability?

I have both BNCR and OCT19 lenses. I think I'll get the Brevis mount and test them on it.

BTW, having a lot of fun with your dolly and track. Thanks

actually, now that I am thinking about it, all BNCR lenses should fit an OCT19 mount (notwithstanding the FFD difference of half a mil). But the reverse would not be true due to only having 1 slotted fin on the OCT19.
