FOR SALE is a beautiful set of vintage Nikon primes Cine-Modded by Duclos Lenses, with Canon EF Mounts. These are some of the oldest and most special Nikon F Mount lenses that came our of Nikon’s optical designers including the legendary 35mm f2, 55mm f1.2, 85mm f1.8 and 105mm f2.5. These lenses are still considered by many to be the best lenses to come out of Nikon. Most are from the 1950s and 1960s. The 28mm is slightly newer, but integrates well into the set.
The lenses stand out for their beautiful vintage coatings, and their performance. Every lens performs very well wide open with good sharpness, medium contrast, and very low CA. They flare beautifully, and all produce incredibly smooth bokeh. The wide lenses are a little bit slow, but as soon as you shoot these lenses wide open on a FF camera, you won’t care, especially when that lens flare hits.
All the lenses have the full Duclos Lenses Cine-Mod including follow focus gears, 80mm fronts that accept 77mm screw-in filters. Leitax EF mounts, and de-clicked iris rings for smooth iris pulls. All the lenses are Pre AI, so Duclos had to do a slight modification to make the lenses work with EF adapters. So you will not find many sets like this out there. I think it’s one of the only sets of Pre AI lenses they have ever Modded.
All the lenses cover full frame and are ready to shoot. Lenses are extremely clean. No scratches, haze or fungus. They might have slight cleaning marks if you blast them with a flashlight, but I can’t really see anything with the naked eye. These are very clean.
Only reason I am selling these, is because I decided to sell off the rest of my cine-modded lenses, and only keep the fully rehoused cine lenses.
The Cine-Mod alone was $3,000! Asking $6000 or best offer, which is a great deal for a turn key set of vintage Nikkors that I personally sourced.
