I had my Canon FD 35-105 for a while that I really loved, and it has some of the most amazing pronounced, awesome flares. I'm looking for something for EOS that I can use with my C100 that would produce similar flares. Anybody have some hidden gems to share?

Kowa Cine Prominars

The spherical lenses have very sharp geometric extended flares that you can easily paint across your frame. Warm in tone.

The anamorphic Kowas behave similarly with very defined horizontal flares that tend toward yellow and warm.

Contax Zeiss rock!

A cheap Modern super flare option would be an uncoated Rokinon lens ;)

Why don´t you get more Canon FDs? Yes Contax Zeiss´s flare nicely (especially the AEs). As so Minolta Rokkor´s.

What you are looking for are UNCOATED or SINGLE coated lenses, those will flare A LOT.

A good flaring option are Zeiss Jena ¨zebras¨, as they are single coated, from the 60s.

Super Baltars give good flare too.

Lomos, of course. Both spherical and anamorphic.
