  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Viewing in REDCINE

So when I view in default its dark but in photoviewer its normal.

That is weird, it looks crushed. It looks like a Gamma issue from somewhere.

Click on the 3 dots in the upper right-hand corner so that you can access settings. I think this is going to be a Windows update issue or a Graphics card update issue.

It seems anyone with a calibrated monitor from way back into 2015 have been having the same issues. I'm guessing it's the monitor's color profile. I'm on a viewsonic VP3881.

Oh, alright then. Have you seen any remedies offered to fix the problem? Like updating the firmware of the monitor or some alternative method of re-calibration?

I just made another viewer the default viewer for now. I changed a bunch of settings on the monitor to see if that changed it but it didn't.

It looks like a Gamma difference between Gamma 2.2 and Gamma 2.4. I think the default Window viewer may be tied more closely to Gamma Settings of your Graphic card. The Viewer that seems to give you accurate results could be more tied to your Operating system. Have you tried looking at what Gamma settings your graphics card is set to?

It looks like a problem with Color Management settings. Windows sometimes changes the settings by itself.

I must be the only one...but with the latest version of REDCINE on all of my Macs, Komodo comes up with no image and a big red OFFLINE thing....(at least that's what I remember it said...). In any case, does not work. Thoughts anyone?

I get the same on my Macbook Pro 2013 but on my iMac 2020 it all works fine.
