i finally got my viewfinder and i love it, but it seems to have a green/reddish cast, and we can't find a place to adjust this with the color bars. any suggestions?

Can you describe this in more detail? Are you moving your head and eyes around or still while seeing this? Red and Green Hue, it is rare to see both at the same time. Just trying to see if it is equipment or something else.

i saw a color cast using build 13 ...
gone in build 15 ...

also try switching the cable's .. use the LCD cable on the EVF just to see if it makes a difference ...

I worked with this particular EVF yesterday. Yes, warmish color cast and green tint, particularly green in the shadows. There was a RED LCD on the camera that looked correct color wise. (This particular LCD has previously matched well with an array of Panasonic and Sony monitors...) Build 15.2.2.5. Position of eye didn't seem to change the color cast much. We were both looking at scene content and at SMPTE bars.

I was looking in the manual for a way to color-calibrate the EVF, but couldn't find anything but the brightness/backlight adjustment. Any tips?

Otherwise a very nice viewfinder. Seems to be quite an improvement over earlier Accuscene viewfinders I have worked with...

I would make sure that dark detail is enabled. If this problem persists please feel free to contact me:

I have encountered a reddish feeling on the EVF too. It is much warmer than the 720P out, I'm using with various HD monitors. Using build 15. I have brought up this issue on NAB and send a mail afterwards to RED but haven't heard back. A color balance on the EVF would be good to have. Changing anything on the camera has an effect on all monitoring devices (LCD, EVF and PWV).

Sean -

we actually get much more accurate color with dark detail DISABLED.
