Hello All,

I am about to shoot a feature using the RED Scarlet. It is my first time using a RED at all. Yesterday my 1st AC was building the camera, etc. and we put a Zeiss Contax Prime 18 with an EF mount on it and for whatever reason the Field of View was very narrow. It looked like an 85. So my question is does anyone know if we were somehow zoomed in on the monitor or something along those lines, because it was not very wide at all? Any easy fixes? Thanks in advance for any help.

Make sure you're in 4K since when you lower the resolution, you crop the sensor. You may have hit the zoom in function, but that's a 10x function which default I believe is button C on the side handle. Look at both of those and see if that solves your problem.

Awesome, thank you Mr. McKechnie, will check bot. When you say that it will crop the sensor, it will show cropped in the monitor as well, correct?

ok, that is what i thought and when i was changing that, on the touchscreen, 4k to 2k and so forth, the monitor never changed. So it must be zoomed in somehow. Thanks fellas.

There are indicators that zoom is enabled. In Menus mode you will see a green 1:1 on the bottom bar. In 4.0.x and higher you will see a zoom Rectangle within a rectangle (showing current view in current format) indicator (Again with 1:1 in it) on the overlays. Of course, if your monitor is in Clean mode you won't be able to tell (until you hit record and 1:1 is automatically turned off).

Ok, that is very helpful. I am at the office right now and not near the camera, but i believe your answers will fix my issue. Thanks all for indulging the newb.
