See attached ChromaDuMonde charts (especially lower right)... the color matrix used by RedAlert/RedCine etc. does not process the colour in the same way as the HD-SDI video outputs on the camera.

The chip at lower-right on the chart is purple, and appears as purple on the video outputs. However, when processed via RED's tools such as RedAlert/RedCine, the same purple chip shifts to blue.

This was confirmed with multiple calibrated monitor's (TV Logic, Sony, Panasonic) on both the HD-SDI outputs of the camera and HD-SDI outputs from a Kona from Final Cut Pro.

This has caused some local DPs concern, as what they see on set does not match dailies or post.

Anyone at RED know what's going on with this?

Color Question

See the other thread on this also - does the camera HD-SDI output match REDAlert! combination of Color = REC 709 and Gamma = REDspace?

Yes, new CS should address this.... And if it doesn't, I need to know.

This has been noted by a few of us Red users, and a minor struggle. But looking forward it is great that build 20 has addressed this (amongst other things).

I'm very keen to try it out next week....
