  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Video expert - Film virgin

Hi Steve,

That was incredibly generous of you to offer exactly the info I needed. I'm convinced... RED is for me. I've been itching to take my career to the next level and there was no way I was going to jump into 35mm film. RED has opened up a new path that's very exciting indeed. Who knows, I might even start shooting short films. See you Hollywood!

PS. I like the photo's on the other thread Steve - you certainly are a handsome man and I can say that as a straight guy. Perhaps it was the whopping great lens that got me excited :)

Now people that already have broadcast lenses can benefit from RED new cameras.

Scarlet 2/3" Interchangeable is the perfect deal.

Just stick the old Fujinon when doing ENG/EFP and use the Mini Primes when doing something more cinema style.

What you guys have to say about it?

This seems a good place to ask, since it's been mentioned a few time, and I haven't seen it anyplace else...Why no zooming? It'd be good to know that before my first shoot this weekend.

Depends on how you use.

Every rule has its exception... In the right situation.

I'm sure someone has a better comment on this, but I like zoom, you just can't use it all the time.
