Hi,
I played one of my video clips on office projector and it appeared dark and dull but on all tv screens and computer monitors its bright and nice.
When we played one of the dvd-movie (harry potter)on the same projector it appeared normal.
Why my video clip which I color graded nicely appears fine on all screens except office projectors?

thanks.

Office projectors are purchased by accountants. They are bargain brand crap designed to display powerpoint presentations. 90% of them need to have the bulbs replaced.

Also check your display output parameters.

Thanks Jeremy for your response.
The only issue I have is that the same projector played Harry potter dvd alright. But my video clip which appear perfect on all tv's and computer monitors appeared dark and faded on the same projector.

Was the input device any different for the DVD? (A DVD player vs your computer), but if they were both from the same source, was the video player the same? (Windows Media Player / VLC, etc). But Jeremy's statement is so true about the bulbs.

It sounds like a gamma issue.

We're both videos that you used DVDs? or just Harry Potter?

What's the max resolution Your projector can take?
See if the same happens when You resize Your video clip.

If the projector is not calibrated, all bets are off. It could be anything -- dark, bright, wrong gamma curve, wrong color temperature, clipped, crushed, or perfectly normal. No way to tell without calibration. It's like lining up 10 people with iPhones and checking to see how your project looks on those: chances are, it'll have 10 different looks.

See how the video file gamma etc are set up. Years ago we had problems with QuickTime turning out washed out on some players and normal!oh others. Too complex, as you can see from Marc's post.
