Its called a few things but I know it as vibration reduction (Nikon) and I'm wondering if there has been word on if the Scarlet has this; either on the Fixed Lens version or using VR equipped lenses with the cinematic version.

Happy reading:

Maybe you don't really want it for video:

Maybe Scarlet Fixed has a hybrid system:

And I'm pretty sure it was once said OS / VR / OIS will work in stills mode with the proper RED Canon/Nikon mount. Though I'm not interested enough to search around. Best to use this search engine:

I dont mean to thread -jack but I have heard talks of Autofocus on the Scarlet Fixed but it seems like they have only demoed the half press shutter release or touch screen type. I was wondering if there is any news on wether or not there is going to be any type of autofocus like you would find on a HVX 200 to be super specific. I do mostly run and gun shooting and having autofocus is always nice to have in busy situations.

For AF info download the Epic Manual. Look at pp 61-63 and 75-76. Way beyond HVX, and with more to come. There will be touchscreen target selection with automatic tracking. And if I remember correctly, manual touchscreen tracking too.

In fact, anyone seriously interested in Scarlet should RTF(Epic)M :thumbup1: A lot of things in there will make you drool, and wonder how they do it, or why no one else is, at the target price.

I agree with Steve, the Epic Manual seems gives you a good idea of what the Scarlet might be able to do. There are some pretty impressive goodies hidden away in that manual.
