Hello, I wanted to post here about a Kickstarter campaign I am participating in to help it being funded and because it could benefit to the many owners of Brushless Gimbals, may it be a MoVI, a RONIN, or a BEAST (previously known as the BeSteady FOUR) for some of which there have been Group Buys here.

In the meantime the goal has been reached but there is still a bit more than 24 hours left to participate.

Here is the link to this campaign: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/164488684/stabilized-camera-gimbal-vibration-isolator-mount

It is to help manufacture a better version of the Cinema Vibration Isolator from Stratus Productions:

If you check their website you can see that they already manufacture and sell vibration dampeners of different sizes and have some very informative videos about how to use and tune them to your needs.

The best example is the GIF on the Kickstarter page of one of their smaller vibration isolator doing it's magic, the lower plate being isolated from the shakes that the top plate is receiving.

This Vibration Isolator mount is designed to be used with Brushless Gimbals of a total weight from 4 kg (8 lbs) to 13 kg (30 lbs) and I plan to use it for vehicle mounts with my RONIN and RED EPIC setups.

There is a video that shows its usefulness:

Not only its use is to help eliminate vibrations but also to protect your gear as the shocks the Gimbal receives when mounted to a vehicle traveling over a bumpy road will damage the ball bearings on the motors' axis.

I have been looking around for some time and it is the cheapest solution I have found so far to make it possible to use a medium to big size Brushless Gimbal for hard-mounted shots.

The big stabilized remote heads like the LIBRA all have Vibration Isolators and your own Brushless Gimbal could too. Well, I am glad I won't have to build one, the process looks long and frustrating.

K.

Disclaimer: This is not my product, I have found it during my research for a solution and wanted to share.
