Hi all,

Quick workflow question - I'm doing some grading and a blood hit/spatter on a friends project. I am curious if most people grade first, then go into fusion/after effects and do the VFX or if they go the other way and start with the VFX then grade.

I've been given Sony MTS/R3D Scarlet files to work from.

Thanks

Tommy

Often people comp in the color space that the footage will be used to grade from, using a LUT or conversion yo see what it will look like in Rec. 709 or the target end color space, which gets turned off/ignored when they render out.

Often this means RedLogFilm is the starting point, then that is converted from Log to Linear for compositing, and then that is viewed in Rec 709.
