  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Did some encode tests on a Mac Air hooked to a Rocket X in a TB2 enclosure... It was an older Mac Air no TB2 and it still pushed 6k into 1080 prores LT really well, faster then real time encoding off the mag to the internal SSD... I am very impressed with the new card... PS I will have it at a local rental house for those in need but overall I loved it and look forward to using it in some real world stuff

yea the nMP is def a good tool also...i'm gonna probably grab one as well in a bit! but for now rocket x is a nice little mobile solution for me

Mark, Is that MX or Dragon footage? I'm really worried about the day I need to start processing Dragon stuff...

I tried a Dragon frame and it took 5 seconds just for the UI to update after changing a setting.

Dragon... That's all i shoot now.

Full debayer takes longer, But who needs to do a FULL debayer if your only editing in HD. Even if your doing a PRORES HD finish and working in PRORES or DNXHD , 1/2 debayer is plenty good enough. Full debayer 4444 is a huge over kill. Not to mention time wasting.

I'm waiting for a good TB2 enclosure, but my macbook is only TB1 ?
Whats the enclosure you have.

Just got the RRX and I can't wait for Magma TB2 encloser to arrive for my nMP.

I'm going to test this setting with 1, 2, 3, 4 Titans this week. I will let you all know what I come out of.

Jim,

That does sound odd. On my antique 2008 Mac Tower 20gig RAM using either a GTX 285 or an AMD R9 card I am getting 3.5fps at FULL debayer of 6kHD footage. Although I might start to consider 1/2 debayer settings if I am in a rush. If you need some Dragon footage to play with I can drop some over.

Don't worry boys i have a red rocket X card and it works great!
