RED TEAM:

When using high frame rate AND shooting showing the waveform for exposure today I shot at 113fps on CF card. what happens is I can't tell before, during, or after the shot that I lost lots of frames....this is not something that I would ever want to face on a professional production. I was lucky today...it was a test shoot...still makes things smell bad when we are sitting with the Director and playing with REDCINE finding blue frames in the footage.

Could you guys make SURE in the next point or build update that it will show just as it does for the CODEC ERROR a HUGE RED X across the screen with a warning after the take that "FRAMES DROPPED!"

thanks for your help. I hope this is an easy fix.

got some ROCKIN images today inspite of 1/3 the slow motion stuff is crap from dropped frames.

I now understand that 110 fps is the max for cards.

Dropped Frames ?

Dropped Frames ?

Obin, I explained on the other thread you started on this same subject that this is not necessarily a dropped frames issue. Please send RED SUPPORT team your camera log file and if possible your .R3D file and then we can understand what may be going on.

Hi Obin,

exactly the same here, Ive already filed a bug report and got the answer that shooting 113 fps (=maximum for cf) is too high. The value Red accepts is a bit too "optimistic". Dialing the fr down to 110 produces no dropped frame alert any more (here).

Cheers,
Jochen

It is not just a high speed problem.

I hope that the Redteam is on it.

Redteam please confirm here that you are aware of this problem.

Thanks.

The Blue Frames in REDCINE are not dropped frames.

Its a bug in REDCINE that needs a fix urgently as we can't get any footage out.

hmmm..well well...so my "lost" footage may indeed be found one day?
