  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Very cool stop motion - behind the scenes

You mean other than Nightmare Before Christmas? :biggrin5:

Same director so I guess you could say HE was the first to do a stop motion feature!

EDIT - Oh I see, first stop motion shot in 3D. Cool! Anybody know what it was shot on? I'm guessing DSLR.

I am not sure where IMDB get their info from, but Coraline was shot mainly on Redlake cameras. Nikon and RED cameras were only used at the end of the production when they needed more units.

My business partner Frank Passingham was one of the DoPs - half our city decamped to Portland to help make this film. Laika is awesome!

I'm still amazed at the work that goes into stop motion and the fact that they almost shoot it twice is crazy. Especially for the fact that it doesn't look too stop motion to me but rather like CGI done characters and environments.
