This is a pretty awesome house we spent a week shooting stills & motion of for the architect. The video linked is a rough assemblage of footage with a quick grade...

We really pushed the Epic's tonal capabilities and it rose to the challenge. All shot with my Canon tilt/shifts.

dragon should be a big help with DR and exposure time as well.....must have been a fun place to shoot.....that TV looks huge! 4K?:)

Nice place, love the front door with the rusted panels. I bet your movi is going to be a big help with those long hallway shots. Keep up the good work!

I really want producers to stop asking for Movi when it is not appropriate (which is most of the time) - a Movi shot is not a dolly shot. You would never have those perfect linear moves, at perfect height, with a Movi.

That said I love the eerie feel this has.

Yeah, balancing all the merits of the MōVi against my ridiculously anal sense of composition is going to be interesting. We ran 80 feet of dolly track and the variances across the run would throw composition off just enough to really piss me off. For narrative work and being able to walk all the way through a space... The MōVi will shine

Totally agree with both statements.

Excellent job shooting this. Much of my corporate work is shooting architecture, and building architectural models, some design consultation.

Very interesting house. Not my cup of tea... If not for the scale of it, the house looks like you could order the whole thing as a kit from IKEA. I guess I'm just not a fan of the euro-contemporary minimalist approach. This is what we call the Scandinavian Shoebox, although this is a big one. Multiple shoeboxes connected around a central courtyard. With that courtyard and odd landscaping within, come instant thoughts of, gee, what will that tree look like in 20 years when it's 40 feet tall and the root ball is as large as that mound it's planted in..?

I tip my hat to the decorator / designer though. While the furnishings are still not my cup of tea, they made excellent use of materials, color and texture.

I think a Movi with something like an EasyRig or even rigged on a steadicam, it could make for some very interesting runs similar to a suspended dolly. That could sure beat laying all that dolly track! The Movi has tons of applications, but I'm with Rob on this one, it's the new piece of coolness on the market and everyone wants to use it for everything.
