  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Two questions - well three really...

Can someone explain to me why we need both varispeed and timelapse modes - why not just extend the varispeed settings to cover the timelapse intervals as well ?

Why is it that in varispeed mode with relative shutter I can achieve 1fps with a 1sec per frame shutter speed - wheras as soon as I enter timeplapse mode the longest shutter speed available is 1/24 sec ?

Will new releases of the firmware address this and enable a full range of shutter speeds for timelapse ?

I'll just say: Nice find (the longer shutter, that is...)

That's the plan ...

thats good to hear Stuart.

What's the answer regarding the two modes - why not just have varispeed cover all frame rates ?

At the moment it is possible whilst in varispeed mode to change the shutterspeed during a take. This is extremely useful in low frame rate situations if the lighting changes during the take. This cannot be achieved in timelapse mode where it would be even more useful during day to night transition lapses for instance.

If all the frame rates from extremely high to long timelapse were all available from within varispeed this would be a much better solution.
