What is the difference between these mounts?
Reliability?
Price?

Both work great. I don't think there is much difference in price or reliability of the actual batteries and there are lots of assessories for both. Depending on where you are located either the V-mount or the Gold mount might be more popular. If you rent gear you might want to check to see what the rental houses you are using prefer. One thing with the v-mount which I have used for 20 years is they can get knocked off or pop off the back of the camera. Its happened a few times and in certain situations I actually tape the battery down onto the mount to avoid that from happening.

Definitely a preference thing. Agreed that you should check with your rental houses to see what they use. VMount batts tend to be lighter and used more on gimbals but that's changing now that they're powered off the gimbal. Gold mount is anton bauer specific and will tend to be more expensive but bomb proof

Gold Mount is mechanically superior. There's no chance of it falling off the camera, making it ideal for car mount, steadicam, crane, and remote head operating. They are also generally more robust in terms of being accidentally dropped and managing charging cycles. V-lock has the benefit of being more widely available from different manufacturers, capacities, features, sizes and price points. You're more likely to find v-mounts around the world when traveling.
