Does no one make these? I see gold to V, but not the other way around. I have the V-lock I/O expander on my camera, but own Gold mount batteries. Looking for a hot swap solution. Is there a reason no one seems to make these? Red doesn't offer the I/O expander in Gold mount either. Do I just need to sell the V-lock I/O, buy the RED AB plate AND the standard I/O? the price difference from the V-lock expander to a standard AB plate plus standard expander makes no sense to me

Had Core do a custom for my F65, Ryan. Hot swap, wired for serial, good quality, cost around $300 I think. They'll make whatever you want.

Not sure how I missed this, but thanks for the info! I was talking with CORE and they said they didn't make these, but things just got interesting. Do you know who you were speaking to exactly? I'll give them a shout regardless...

Hmm, it was a couple of years ago but I just talked to sales on the phone. They were happy to make it and charge a bit more. I think it was about $100 above the cataloged sharkfin.

Doesn't help you, and I generally like Core and their customer service, but I went through the same thing with Anton Bauer years ago. You used to be able to call them up and have them build custom stuff. Then one day they just say, nope, it's not worth our time and trouble to do a "one-off". Really sucks, as there are so many unique problems and situations that come up in this industry that need solutions and not everything can be solved with "off-the-shelf" parts.

I emailed the guy I was talking to a couple of months ago about this (at core), told him the story you just told me about getting a custom build, he said he's going to get back to me tomorrow and see if this is an option. I asked for this awhile ago and the response I got was "Unfortunately, we do not make a plate like this. The wiring is very difficult to pull off to make a sharkfin with a V-mount to gold mount batteries.

My apologies for any inconveniences this may have caused."

That said, he's a sales guy, and in my most recent email I asked if there's any way he could put me in touch with someone who handles the actual development. I'll update this thread after I sort it out.
