We have had a bit of fun last month looking at how to use and match the iPhone 15 Pro and Max phones alongside pro cameras, both for software, workflows, hardware and image

And while it cannot replace a "proper" camera, there are a lot of great usage-scenarious.

have a look

Agree 100%

The intent is not to suggest that an iPhone can replace something like Raptor, Venice or Alexa 35

But with the hype around the iPhone, we thought it could be good to make a video on how they can match, where the iPhone actually can have an edge and "if you insist on shooting with an iPhone, try to use it in a pro way with a pro workflow", as that will make it more likely to be successfukl.

I run around the globe with slightly heavier kit, and won't stop doing that anytime soon, BUT after doing this test, the iPhone will definitely join me in the travel-kit, to be dressed for any occasion.

Good video, thank you. Won’t be selling my reds anytime soon but may well update my iphone. Really liked the look of Quine, will give it a go on my next project.

Great video Gunleik. A more astute approach compared to many comparison videos
seen one Youtube.
Reminds me of 2009/2010 with the DSLR invasion.
Much like what was learned then all pixels are not of the same quality.

I've already turned to my iPhone for some specific shooting situations on some doc
projects and have done similar with DSLRs in the past.
It's another tool which is always a good thing.

Cinema cameras will likely still do the heavy lifting for cinema projects for the time being.
As a monitor/controller I'm quite happy with how my iPhone (and iPad) interfaces with Komodo OG and X.
That combo perhaps been the revolution for me the last few years.

Everyone seems to forget Jim designed a camera just like an iPhone many many years ago as the new product announcements after the red one mx.
Not that long ago. The Red Hydrogen Camera/phone was introduced in August 2018. It did not do well.

Thanks.

Yeah, we spent a bit of time on it, and then saw we needed to make the supporting videos on how to get there :)
