USING SCARLET WITH IKAN WX7 and SIDE HANDLE

Hi Guys,

Wondering if anyone has had any experience using an IKAN VX7 with the red scarlet. I have the side handle and the ikan hooked up to the Scarlet but I can't see the menus or change any settings with the side handle. The picture shows up just fine but I am locked out of the menus. I'd appreciate any thoughts on this

I use an ikan vx7 ... works fine with my camera's. only thing you need to do is change in the setup so menu's to "on" for the hdmi port. there is a download in the red.com support to move that config to the camera ... though i have not done it that way(there really should be a sticky on how to do it ... look in the support area ... and there are instructions on that download).

The procedure will apply a preset file to the camera on startup.


1) Insert a formatted SSD MAG into the REDstation and creata a 'force_preset' folder
2) Unzip the file and locate the required preset file.
3) Copy the required preset file to the 'force_preset' folder.


NOTE: Ensure you have selected a file from the correct camera version folder.


4) With the camera OFF, install the SSD Mag and power up the camera.
5) The camera will recognize the preset file, apply it and delete the folder.

THANKS I heard about a similar process for the Zacuto EVF, was hoping it would just work out of the gate with the IKAN but I guess RED enjoys making it as difficult as possible to utilize 3rd party monitors Right now I have picture but when I press the menu button on the side handle nothing happens. I can adjust aperture and thats pretty much it right now. I have a 5" touch on the way which should make things much easier. Thanks again for the information, much appreciated
