Hi guys,
Specs:
mac pro mid 2010
48 gbs of ram (yea 48 baby!)
radeon 5770 (powering 27" cinema and an older samsung as secondary display)
nvidia 4800
so.. i wanna know if anyone has experience using a red rocket on the 4x pci slot on mac pro.
the rocket requires a 8x slot to work properly... but in the 4x slot, i still get a pretty decent output from it.
im using my radon to run my monitors and i leave the nvidia 4800 to run just GPU on davinci resolve and other apps.
i would love to hear opinions on this matter. im sure im not the only one who has ever encountered this. and perhaps some opinions on if i should just dump the radeon and run the monitors on nvidia.
another option would be getting an older nvidia card that is not a double wide and using that to power the monitors (which seems like the logical solution right now). something like this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001V3DZD4/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&smid=A1ICP70WVTTYTX
(of course i know i could get a cubix but that is overkill right now)
thx in advance!
