  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Hey guys, I was curious if anyone has any experience or could point me in the right direction of someone that has used RED in a live situation? I was looking at Dragons, redcast and the Nipros stuff. Any information would be really appreciated. Thanks.

As in you are broadcasting live? Or just shooting a live event for later editing? Or both?

It would be broadcasting live. Its a house of worship setup so I would need a low latency setup for the two/three screens in the room and also I am looking for typical control in our broadcast booth for cameras. Basically the control you usually get from traditional broadcast setups. I saw that the Nipros stuff could do that but I am not familiar enough with it and would like to get some maybe first hand stories about using it. Our setup would most likely be, RED camera to control booth switcher, then out. We'd want 4K down the road so we'd want gear that will give us that option later instead of having to buy more pieces when the time comes.

Get in contact with someone from Church by The Glades. I think they run six dragons live. The guy who set it up is a member here.

Thanks, man. Just reached out to them. It does look like they use at least 2 Dragons in their back camera setup.
