  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

We've been using REDCAM for some time now... Before, I have to log and transfer everything (every single clip) in FCP using Apple Prores HQ before i start my offline editing. But that's taking me too long because during a shoot, we literaly shoot several takes using different lenses, etc.. (then later decides in post what to use). For this recent projects, i now use the QT proxies for offline. When approved by client, that's the time to log and transfer the clips that i need and re-edit everything using the full-res version.

Is there an easier way of using the QT as proxies? Then reconnecting it with the full-res without re-editing offline?

Yes, it's called Clipfinder.

Just send it to color. Once in color change your project settings....width and height. Color automatically reconnects to r3d. Make sure you download the "final cut studio 2(3) installer from red.com/support so you can access the red tab. It's that easy. PM me if you are confused.

One caveat: if any of your R3D clips is larger than 2GB, you'll still need Clipfinder to do the "Fix Looping Bug" step.
