  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Using Premiere with Redcine - THANKS ADOBE!

Once you apply the look to the clip in Redcine X, (make a new, and save the preset in the preset box) you can apply this to any clip you would like. As soon as you start adjusting the clip you can go into premiere and pres "Reload RDM". This will load in any changes you have made in redcine X.

In the new RCX we now have this feature...
"Ability to store multiple looks to an RMD via the new Look Manager tool"
That'd be a great hook to tie into if possible.

Reload RDM

Reload RDM

Were is the "Reload RDM" in PP CS5? :emote_head_explode:

Thanks,

We are looking at making sure this all works as best as possible. One concern someone raised (can't find) was that in ppro there isn't an easy way to get all R3D's to load the latest RMD from RedCine. Does this work for you guys?

1. Search project for all .r3d
2. Select all, right click source settings
3. Reload RMD

Let me know if you think this is a valid workflow and works for you guys. ASAP if possible ;)

Thanks

Dave

I think we were talking about it in this thread.
Your workflow sounds great to me, exactly what I was hoping for. It would also work for any selection of only .R3Ds as well as the whole lot, right? Thanks for listening so well to your user base, Dave.

not to derail the thread...David McGavran, I have been a Premiere user for a long time. Every time you post I am reminded why. I love how you guys are taking a "RED" approach with Premiere by asking people for input.

Hi David,

I think that approach with multiple selection and changing source settings for all or any group of clips is fine for me. But then I'm used to it from years with AE, came back to Premiere only recently ;-)

But I second the request for integration with the new Look Manager, so one could try different looks on set and load them again when working in CS5.

Glad to have you here!

I am working with Rob to see what we can do with looks...

Yep, this is working right now in ppro 5.0.2. I overlooked it in the other thread.

I Jumped the Ship and it was worth it.

I Jumped the Ship and it was worth it.

Abandoning the APPLE ship pretty soon. They are just too late to the game.

the jump is worth it the more I Learn and use the applications I really like how well most apps play together. in regards to apple... well I think they are too busy making the billions with the iToys to give a rat's ass about the pro user. they are not even keeping up in fact IMHO they are 2-4 years behind.
I would think that when scarlet ships a lot of people (indies) will go to adobe due to the fact that it is the only solution to work natively with R3D and author Blu-Ray. Now does it not sound stupid to shot Red and have to deliver in DVD because there is no way but he apple's way. I say :furious3: Apple and jump ship now so you can be ready for scarlet when gets here. let me tell you learning a whole new Suite it is not an easy task.

No Need.

No Need.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I do not need to abandon apple to move more towards premier/adobe and away from FCP

there is no need. I did not want to buy new hardware (if that is what you are referring to) just to jump ships. that for me is what was the good part.

Is CS6 in the Works?

Is CS6 in the Works?

Our pleasure... We are constantly working on more stuff... Maybe I will send a screen shot teaser of some future work...

Cheers

Dave

I would assume that CS6 is in the works as we speak. anything you could tell us about it in relation to anything RED? Dave...

Apple should take note on how to treat, interact and listen to costumers and maybe than they would deliver what we need. but I see they are much busy with the iToys
