Using Ex1 for pickups on red shoot for SD delivery?

Hey guys,

Have a question for you guys. Recently finished a corporate vid shoot to be delivered in SD. Shot on Red, now we have about 10 pickups to do, including a plate for an effects shot( just to be shot, then roto'd later, it is a mid shot of 2 people at a cafe table). I was wondering if you guys think it would be feasible to do pickups on EX1, instead of the Red due to budgetary reasons. The whole piece is going to be onlined in flame later. Do you think this could work or would the shots stick out like sore thumbs, most are cutaways on the screen for a few secs.

delivered in SD? yes, you could definitely work with EX1 footage.

You won't be able to match any aggressive color grades, nor will you have shallow DOF...

And the look of EX1 is soooooo plastic against RED footage...terrible

I think it'll be fine. If you can use the middle part of the zoom and shoot around a 2.8-4 it'll be good.
