Hi everyone, probably a simple fix to this. I've been using davinci resolve (free version) and a friend gave me their davinci studio USB dongle. Stupid question but how do I get the software to recognize it? It still runs the free version and I can't seem to download the studio version without paying $995 for it. Seems possible. People are buying davinci dongles right and left. How do you make it work?

any info would be helpful. thanks!!

Yes, and note the Studio Version and the regular version are not the same program and not the same download. If you use the Studio version, it will constantly ask for the dongle if it's not inserted.

. . . and, when you install Studio and don't have the dongle inserted, you can't just revert to Free version temporarily to make it work. Feature Request!

With dongle-less Apple version of Studio you can have both versions installed and use the one you chose.

Good tip buy I'm always leery of having 2 instances of an App when there is a database involved . . .

Apple version of studio is shipped without a PostgreSQL database software, so disk database is just fine for both. Nothing to worry about...
