I know that supposedly the current RED DRIVE will be usable with the upcoming Epic / Scarlet cameras, but I have a couple of questions:

1) Will it be able to connect directly to the brain? Or is a separate module needed to hook up the RED DRIVE to the Epic or Scarlet brains?

2) Will the current RED DRIVE record 5K? If so, at what frame rates?

These questions are probably premature, but I thought I'd ask anyway. You never know when Jim or Jarred will throw us a bone. :emote_couch:

CJ has a good point but also keep in mind if you can shoot 5K at RC36 then you would be able to record it to a drive.

I can't imagine how the hell they will pull off recording RC250

Swear someone once mentioned when EPIC's come the idea of what is currently RC will change, hence RC250 is possible...otherwise I can't imagine our current options being as useful on the next gen...since RC250 would be mad wicked in that case and everyone will want to use it so buy up new offerings...

That's why im pretty sure there was something about RC250 and 36 etc. Not being directly related to their current ideas...maybe wrong in which case..i'm ready to be surprised by the new recording options!

From Jarred:

There is a very thin module with a Drive port on it available for people to use existing drives... it's not the standard IO module :)
